십자가

십자가의 선물

하늘 보좌를 비우신 그분,
죄 없는 손과 발이
채찍에 찢기고, 조롱의 침이 스며
마침내 형틀에 내맡겨졌습니다

그는 능히 내려올 수 있었으나
“어찌하여 나를 버리시나이까,” 그 절규 속에서도
눈물과 몸부림 가운데
물과 피가 온전히 쏟아졌습니다

거센 폭풍우 속에서
눈물로 덮인 길을 지나
무릎 꿇은 그 자리에서
그의 손길이 따스함을 전합니다

흙먼지 위에 발걸음을 내려놓고
침묵 속 십자가 길을 따르는 순간,
갈라진 손바닥 위로
빛줄기가 우리를 감싸안습니다

그 눈부신 손길은
오늘도 낡은 문틀 앞에서 멈춰 서십니다
녹슨 빗장을 떨며 밀어내면
틈새로 쏟아진 온기가
마른 살결에 스며듭니다

The Gift of the Cross

He emptied the throne of heaven,
His sinless hands and feet
Were torn by the lash, soaked with mocking spit,
At last entrusted to the cross’s frame.

Though He could have come down,
Even in the cry, “Why have You forsaken Me?”
Amid tears and struggles,
Water and blood were poured out in full.

Amid the raging storm,
Along a path covered with tears,
At the place where He knelt,
His touch imparts warmth.

To set our steps upon the dusty earth,
And in silence follow the way of the cross;
Upon His cracked palms,
Beams of light enfold us.

That radiant hand
Still pauses today before the worn doorframe.
When the rusted latch is pushed aside in trembling,
Warmth pours through the gap
And seeps into parched skin.
